![]() ![]() Gene Wilder, the star of "Young Frankenstein" recently passed away and I had been meaning to make this cake for a while now, and now with his passing as well as Turner Classic Movies honoring him this week I felt it was fitting to share it. This cake isn't quite " Seven and a half feet long. I made mine 3 tall layers to be larger than life similar to the creature in Young Frankenstein. Whisk together the confectioners’ sugar, cornstarch and 1 cup heavy cream in a small saucepan. Transfer it to the saucepan, add the cooked cherries and cook over medium, stirring, until the mixture has thickened, 3 to 5 minutes.
